Abstract

1,190,477. Cylinders. BURMEISTER & WAIN'S MASKIN-OG SKIBSBYGGERI A.S. 30 May, 1968 [1 June, 1967], No. 26036/68. Heading F2T. A cylinder liner is clamped between a face 3 and a cover 7 by an hydraulic ram 6 and an annular nut 15 which engages in an internal screwthread of the cover. The ram is supplied at 10 with fluid through a duct 13 from a hand pump and the nut subsequently screwed down to abut the back face 16 of the ram. Once the desired clamping pressure has been reached as indicated by a pressure gauge and the nut screwed into position, the fluid pressure is released through a duct 14. The cover may be secured by a screwthread connection as shown or by a locking ring.
