Abstract
877,345. Pit props. BERGWERK-UND WALZWERK MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Sept. 5, 1958 [Oct. 25, 1957], No. 28580/58. Class 20(2) [Also in Group XXVI] In an hydraulic telescopic pit prop the clearance between a guide ring 15, Fig. 5, on the piston 2, and the cylinder 1 is smaller than the clearance between the guide ring 3 at the outer end of the cylinder and the piston and the guide ring 15 stops the piston head 12 short of the upper part of the cylinder which is engaged and thus liable to be scored by the ring 15. Packing 16, Fig. 1, is arranged between the ring 15 and the piston head 12. The control valves are contained in an insert 6 between two parts 7, 13 of the piston secured thereto by a bolt 9 and a tube 5 with a nut 14, respectively. The ring 15 may be secured to the piston by means of an inwardly directed flange clamped between two parts of the piston (Fig. 2, not shown).
