Abstract

1,062,724. Locking-nuts. R. K. E. GOTZ. March 23, 1965 [June 10, 1964; Sept. 23, 1964], No. 12294/65. Heading F2H. A two-part lock-nut comprises an inner part 11 of truncated conical shape which has a head 17 and is screw-threaded and slit longitudinally at 20, there being provided opposite the slit a channel 21 of the depth of the threads, the outer part 12 of the nut being formed as a sleeve bored conically to fit half way on to the part 11. The nut is used on a bolt 13 for clamping together plates 14, 15. In a modification, the outside of the part 11 is knurled and the sleeve part has flats to engage a spanner.
