Abstract

109,605. Le Cocq, G. L. Sept. 14, 1916, [Convention date]. Bridges. - A suspension bridge is constructed of trusses, Fig. 1, comprising two cable members 6 and 7 connected by struts and ties between pin-joints. Each cable member is composed of two groups of (six) cables 11 and 12, Figs. 2 and 3, every cable of one group being connected to the corresponding cable of the other by pairs of plates 14, 15 bolted together. A pin 19 traverses the pairs of plates and attaches the struts 20 and crossties 22, the latter through adjusting heads 23 and stirrups 24.
