Abstract
520,026. Railway &c. crossings. DUDLEY, W. H. Aug. 4,1938, No. 23037. [Class 104 (i)] In a crossing comprising a switch C pivoted at D to the frog A and coacting with wing rails B, the latter are secured to the continuation rails F by a machine-planed joint between points E and G. The pivotal connection D comprises a pair of fishplates J attached to C and a similar pair attached to A. The parts J<SP>1</SP> of the fishplates of C are bolted to a plate L through which a pivot pin K passes, and the parts J<SP>1</SP> of the fishplates of A are bolted to a similar plate L, the two plates L having a semi-circular bearing on each other. The pin K engages equally the switch C and the frog A. A supporting member M bolted to the wing rails B passes under the plates L, and has an opening to receive a projection L4 on plate L.
