Elevated railways.-In runway joints with two inter-connected tongues c, d, tongue c moving on a vertical pivot c<1> and tongue d on an horizontal pivot d', the through rail a is not divided but is cut-away at a' to receive either tongue. The recess is bridged by a bracket e which carries the pivots c<1>, d<1>. The points may be right or left hand.
