Abstract
Steel containing in percentage by weight .C.0.02-0.1 .Mn.0.2-0.6 .Se.0.003-0.5 .Fe.and balance impurities and optionally also containing 0.01 to 0.04% of phosphorus deliberately added after dephosphorization during steel making is hot and cold rolled into sheet, and is then decarburized at 600 DEG -800 DEG C. until the carbon content is reduced to less than 0.02%, thereby producing good deep-drawing properties. The decarburizing atmosphere may be wet hydrogen, or a wet nitrogen-hydrogen mixture having a ratio of 1:3.
