1,093,693. Pistons. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Sept. 21, 1966, No. 42069/66. Heading F2T. In a piston and connecting-rod assembly the gudgeon pin (not shown) is a running fit in its bearings 13, 14 in the piston and an interference fit in the connecting-rod (not shown) and lubrication passages extend from the underside 23 of the piston crown 11 to the bearings 13, 14. Passages 17, 18 extend from the bearings 13, 14 to cross passage 21, 22 and in use, some of the oil thrown against the underside 23 passes through passages 21, 22. 17 and 18 to lubricate the bearings.
