Abstract

1426387 Bearings REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 4 May 1973 [5 May 1972 23 June 1972] 21452/73 Heading F2A [Also in Division F1] Cast iron bearing caps 24, are located in recesses in a die-cast light-alloy crank-case 32 by studs screwed into tapped holes in the caps. The studs may extend through the caps and serve to hold together castings forming the crank-case 32, a cylinder block 5 1 , a cylinder head (1), Fig. 2 (not shown), and a valve gear housing (2), or additional studs 34 may secure the caps to the crank-case. Rough cast stud receiving holes 22 in the crank-case 24, Fig. 3, may form lubricating oil passages to bearing oil inlets 20.
