Abstract

1,089,963. Baling presses. LIMEHOUSE PAPERBOARD MILLS Ltd., and T. WALKER. Dec. 29, 1965 [Dec. 29, 1964], No. 52638/64. Heading B5F. A container 20 for material to be baled is moved by a pneumatic cylinder 14 from a loading position shown dotted in Fig. 2 (not shown) to a pressing position under a pneumatically operated pressing platen 7. The container 20 is filled from above and emptied through a door 22 in one side, this door beng held closed by eccentrics 25 movable by a handle 27. The container is resiliently mounted on wheels 17 running on trackways 12, springs 19 allowing the container to move downwardly under baling pressure to abut a stationary part 11 of the press. Safety means ensures that the cylinder 14 cannot be operated unless the platen 7 is clear of the container 20 and that the platen 7 cannot be depressed until the container 20 is in its pressing position.
