Abstract

1366439 Loading and unloading vehicles HESSTON CORP 12 Oct 1972 [19 Jan 1972] 47066/72 Heading B8E [Also in Division B5] Apparatus for compressing a stack of hay in a container 10 comprises a press 12 reciprocated by a fluid operated cylinder 52 through a pair of beams 18, 20 pivoted mounted at 22, 24 intermediate their ends. The piston-rod 58 of the cylinder is connected to the beam 18 which is coupled to beam 20 for movement in unison by teeth 48, 50. Extension of the rod 58 produces the compression stroke. There are a pair of beams and a cylinder on each side of the container, each beam 20 being connected by a lever 66 to a torsion rod 62 to ensure equal movement of the beams on each side.
