Abstract

1438199 Forging SCHIRMER & PLATE HYDRAULISCHE PRESSSEN 30 Aug 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 37990/74 Heading B3H An automatic hydraulic horizontal forging press has at least one pair of pistons 20 with the pistons of the or each pair being movable in opposite directions and at least one pair of synchronously operating reversing pumps 11, Fig. 2, to drive the pistons, the ratio of the working face to the return face of each piston being between 1 : 1 and 1 : 0À5. The reversing pumps 11 are controlled by adjustment cylinders 13 connected to rapid-operating proportional valves. The stroke of each piston is measured by a displacement pick-up 10 and compared in a comparator (31), Fig. 3 (not shown). The stroke frequency, stroke length &c. are fed to a regulating circuit (41) to control the proportional valves (32) of the pump adjustment cylinders 13.
