977,564. Baling presses. S. A. YEATES. Jan. 22, 1963 [Dec. 8, 1961], No. 44081/61. Heading B5F. In an hydraulically operated baling press the wool is placed in a hopper 14 through 15, 17 ; the door 15 is then closed and held by catches 23 and the door 17 is held closed by the operator. A control valve is then operated to effect movement of the platen 18 which comprises the wool in the hopper until it is located below the platen 12 which is then operated to further compress the wool and push it into an open pack in the bin 11. A stop 24 throws the control valve into reverse on the platen 12 reaching the end of its travel. A third-platen may be provided in a downwardly directed rear extension of the hopper.
