Abstract
1,087,883. Fluid coolers and surface condensers. PRVNI BRNENSKA STROJIRNA, ZAVODY KLEMENTA GOTTWALDA, NARODNI PODNIK. March 19, 1965, No. 11721/65. Heading F4S. A heat - exchanger for cooling a steam-air mixture and for condensing steam therefrom comprises a casing within which is arranged helicallywound coolant tubes 9 in a helical passage 2 conveying the air and steam mixture through the easing from an inlet 1 to an outlet 6 whereby steam is cooled to produce a condensate of low gas e.g. oxygen content. The cooling fluid, preferably water, is introduced at 8 into a central tube which conveys it to the helical tubing via a distributing tube 11. The coolant is collected in a pipe 12 and exhausted at 10. The helical passage for the steam and air mixture is formed by a tube 5 carrying a helical guide 4. Condensate from the steam is removed through an outlet 7.
