Composite boilers; priming, preventing. - A boiler is provided with an auxiliary boiler consisting of water-tubes exposed to the direct radiation of the furnace and fed with water drawn from the main boiler through a perforated tube 2. The tubes 5 passing through the combustion chamber of a vertical boiler are connected to drums 4, 6 in the boiler setting. Field tubes may be fitted in place of the tubes 5. The steam is led off through two or more concentric perforated pipes 15, the perforations being formed with burrs. The auxiliary generator may be fitted in a French boiler or in a return-tube boiler having a furnacearch extending longitudinally above the auxiliary generator. Specification 108,681 is referred to.
