Abstract

1,085,552. Liquid meters. BECK & CO. (METERS) Ltd. March 11, 1964 [March 12, 1963], No. 9769/63. Heading F1A. In a liquid meter comprising two pairs of radially arranged pistons 10 connected by rods 8 and 12 having transverse slots engaged by rollers on a crank-pin connected to an output shaft 22 and a rotary distributor valve 30, the valve seat 48 of valve 30 is formed of material softer than that of the valve or the meter housing, e. g. carbon, and is angularly adjustable relative to the meter housing for fine adjustment of the valve timing. Seating plate 48 is secured, e. g. by adhesive, to a reinforcing backing plate 56, e.g. of aluminium, the two plates being angularly adjusted by a cranked screw (74), Figs. 1 and 4 (not shown), after slackening clamping bolts (60) and (84).
