Hulls.-The hull of a submarine has a transverse section comprising a pair of oppositelyplaced semicircles a, b, the upper and smaller one being continued downward bv two vertical partitions d. The lower semicircle varies in diameter along the length of the boat while the upper one is of constant diameter along the major portion of its length. The two semicircles are connected by horizontal partitions c and a light upper-work e is fitted in continuation of the lower semicircle.
