Hulls; hydroplane vessels.- The hull of a flying-boat has lateral extensions D with inclined under surfaces and of aerofoil cross-section which act as stabilizing-floats on the water and as supporting- planes in the air. The extensions taper outwardly in plan. Fig. 4 shows two upper planes connected by struts e<1>, f<1> to the extensions D and to a ridge-piece c<1>. Fig. 2 shows a hull A and side floats B in plan. The hull has two redans on its under surface.
