Abstract

1,083,762. Rifles. MAUSER-WERKE A.G. Sept. 11, 1964 [Sept. 13, 1963], No. 37369/64. Heading F3C. In a bolt-action magazine rifle the bolt 14 is mounted for axial and angular displacement in a bridge 1 which is slidable on guide tracks on a receiver bed 2 that terminate level with the rear surface of the magazine 4. The bolt travel between fully open and fully closed positions is divided into two approximately equal movements, one provided by relative movement of the bolt relative to the bridge and the other by relative movement of the bridge relative to the bed. A breech head 3 is screwed on to the end of the barrel with the interposition of a two-part recoil plate and is provided with a recess into which projects a projection on the bed 2 to which the head is secured by a screw. Further screws secure the barrel to the stock.
