Abstract
A rubber composition for treating glass fibres comprises an aqueous dispersion consisting essentially of a natural rubber latex and a resorcinol formaldehyde resin. The composition may also contain an organo-silicon compound or a Werner Complex compound.ALSO:Glass fibres, individually or in bundles, are treated to improve their bonding relationship with elastomeric compositions by providing a coating on the glass fibre surfaces in the form of an aqueous dispersion in which the solids consist essentially of a natural rubber latex and a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin. The compositions may also contain as anchoring agents organo-silicon compounds or Werner Complex compounds wherein the organic group directly attached to the silicon atom or the carboxylato group coordinated with the chromium atom of the Complex contains an animo or an epoxy group.
