Abstract

Finishing composition for glass fibres, which forms a coating on the fibres and this renders them more compatible with resins, e.g. epoxy resins, comprises a silane in an aqs. medium the silane being produced by reaction of an epoxide cpd. and an aminoalkyl cpd. at least one of the cpds. being a trialkoxysilane, the aminoalkyl cpd. having at least one H atom attached to the N atom of the amino gp. and the epoxide cpd. contg. not more than one -O- bridge. The silane is present in amt. of 0.05-5% by wt. of the aqs. medium, and a lubricant is also pref. present.
