Abstract

1,081,995. Ventilating systems. SULZER BROS. (LONDON) Ltd. July 17, 1964 [July 24, 1963], No. 29397/63. Heading F4V. A ventilation system in an annular or spirally shaped garage or car park comprises an elongated supply duct 17 extending along the top of a boundary wall 13 of the garage space with a plurality of closely spaced inlet nozzles 19 distributing the conditioned air, outlets 31 being provided in the same wall. The car park shown in Fig. 1 consists of a cylindrical outer wall 10 with a continuous generally spiral roadway 11 providing several floor levels. Positioned centrally within the wall 10 are two concentric cylindrical walls 12 and 13 defining an annular space 14. Air enters through passage 20, passes through a filter 22 and heater 23 to fans 24 and thence to a circular chamber 25 within the inner wall 12. From this chamber the air passes through controllable shutters 27 to vertical air supply trunks within the space 14 and then to the inlet duct 17 via apertures 18. Exhaust air leaves via openings 31 to four more air trunks in the space 14, Fig. 3 (not shown), which are spaced at 90 degrees about the central vertical axis of the car park. From the air trunks the exhaust air passes through controllable shutters 30 into chamber 29 and is expelled by fans 28 via the outlet 21.
