Abstract

1,080,495. Base heaters for coffee percolators. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. July 19, 1966, No. 32315/66. Heading A4D. A base unit suitable for electrically heating a coffee percolator or other vessel comprises an outer casing of plastic material, a top-plate 3 on which the percolator or vessel can stand, an electric heating element 12, an inner cup-like casing 4 of heat-resistant plastics surrounding the heating element and supported in the outer casing such that a rim 15 of the inner casing 4 is spaced from the rim 1a of the outer casing, e.g. by spacers 7, such that air can flow between them. The outer casing comprises a cylindrical part 1 resting on a tub-like base part 2. The heater element 12 is supported by a bracket 13 and the construction is such that an air duct 16 is provided between the rims 14 and 15 of the top-plate 3 and the casing 4 respectively. Openings 17 and 17<SP>1</SP> are provided in the recessed bottom of the base part 2 and in the bracket 13 respectively, and air passages 11 and 11<SP>1</SP> are provided in the side wall of the base 2 and the bottom wall of the casing 4 respectively.
