853,949. Heating liquids electrically. BURKE, M. May 14, 1958 [May 14, 1957], No. 15273/57. Class 39(3). An electric heating unit for cooking utensils, e.g. coffee percolators, comprises a body formed with recess 2 for receiving liquid to be heated and a heating element 3 set in the wall of the body surrounding the recess, a portion 5 of the body about the open end of the recess being adapted to be secured, e.g. by a nut or threaded collar, in an aperture in a wall of a vessel so that the recess opens into the interior of the vessel. A thermostat is mounted on a platform projecting radially from the periphery of the body, Fig. 1 (not shown).
