Folding or knock-down boxes; lids and covers.- The ends d, d<1>, Fig. 2, of a folding case or trunk are hinged to the bottom i and are adapted, when erected, to engage angle-irons b<2>, c<2>, Fig. 3, on the sides of the case, which are each formed of two parts b, c, or b<1>, c' hinged together so as to be capable of folding inwards. The lower parts c, c<1> are hinged to rails on the bottom i. The ends d, d<1> carry turn-buttons e, e<1> adapted to engage slotted plates g<1> on the sides of the case. The upper ends of the parts b, b<1> are connected by angle-irons m and the lid a carries angleirons l adapted to engage outside the angleirons m when the lid is closed. Each of the lid hinges comprises a bracket o, Fig. 6, which is fastened to the inside of the lid and engages a headed pin q passing through a hole in an anglepiece p secured to the inside of the part b.
