Abstract
3920. Harben, N., and Harben, N. R. March 12. [Cognate Application, 7890/15.] Fastenings for cases, &c. - An attachÚ case, dressing-case, trunk, bag, box, or the like is secured against accidental opening by a hook E, Fig. VI on the lid A which, on closing, springs past a hook B on the side of the case and on opening, interlocks with the hook B. This safety catch may be supplementary to the ordinary fastening, or may be combined with it, as shown, in Fig. 11, wherein the hinged hasp plate M engaging the lock L carries a safety hook G. Instead of interlocking hooks, slotted plates, and projections may be employed.
