Abstract
142,043. Parkins, D. June 23, 1919. Knock-down boxes; corner joints; lids.- In a collapsible box &c. having the sides and ends hinged to the bottom at different heights by hinges having one or both leaves angular, the hinges g, d are arranged so that one leaf is accessible for fixing from the inside of the box and the other from the outside. The sides and ends are secured in the erect condition by angle-plates p on the sides engaging channel-plates o on the ends f, spring tongues q on the channelplates retaining the plates p within the plates o. Hinges r with removable pins s may also be provided at the corners. The lid i is attached to the box at one side or end by hooked plates k, which engage. with slotted plates l on a side or end of the box, and is secured at the edge opposite the plates k by bolts and nuts m, n. The bolts m may be formed integral with the plates p. The hinges g, d may be constructed with removable pins, and such hinges may be used to fasten the lid to the box.
