105,139. Bolton, A. A. May 10, 1916. Knock-down boxes &c.-The ends a, b of a packing-case are hinged to the bottom so that they may fold inwards thereon. The sides comprise fixed parts d, e, to which are hinged the parts d<2>, e<2>, the part d<2> folding on to the ends a, b and the part e<2> folding on to the part d<2>. The hinges of the sides may be let into the wood ; or the ends may be slotted at a<1>, b<1> to clear those hinges in the act of folding. Perforated hinged flaps h take over pins g when the case is erected, and screw-pins j, which may have shanks fixed in recesses in the sides, enter holes k<1> in the lid k and receive securing- nuts; the studs g enter recesses in the lid. The flaps h may be let into the wood; or the lid may be recessed to accommodate them. Vertical screwpins may be secured to the parts d, e so as to rest in recesses in the erected sides; when the lid is placed on the folded parts, these pins may enter the holes k<1> and receive the nuts.
