537,472. Hinged covers &c. for containers &c. BULL, V. G., and BRITISH POWER BOAT CO., Ltd. Nov. 21, 1939, No. 30530. [Class 18] [Also in Group XXV] Closure members, e.g. lids, covers, doors or like panels are attached to compartments so as to give a hermetic joint by positioning a rubber &c. gasket 11 inside the opening and hinging a lid &c. 12 by hinge elements 13, 15 to the compartment and cover and a U-shaped link 17 with ends 18 parallel to the middle element of the U. Four thumb-bolts 19 secure the cover &c. The box may be of wood or metal. In the latter case the metal hinges render the container available as an electrically conducting enclosure which suppresses electrical radiation and so would protect contained electrical apparatus.
