Abstract

405,548. Toilet cases. WHITE, N., 11, Canterbury Road, Brixton Road, and THOMPSON, J. DENTON-, 16, Deveraux Court, both in London. July 13, 1933, No. 19779. [Class 18.] In a toilet case comprising a shallow body and lid hinged together, the body is provided with a central compartment 5 for powder, &c. surrounded by a number of shallow receptacles 8, and with a closure member 9 or members over the receptacles ; and either the receptacles or the closure(s) are rotatable so that access can be had to the contents of the receptacles. As shown, the closure comprises an annular plate rotatable under the beaded edge of the body part and provided with a flanged aperture 10 which can be positioned over any receptacle 8 ; these receptacles being secured or stamped in a fixed plate 4 similarly to the compartment 5. The inner edge of the plate 9 may engage under a flange on the centre portion of the case ; or the plate could be replaced by a number of segments with a gap between. The compartment 5 may be provided with a hinged lid 6 and with an aperture in its base communicating with the space under the receptacles 8. In a modification, the plate 9 is fixed and the plate 4 rotates underneath it in a groove in the upper edge of the body part, and a portion of the edge of the case is cut away to allow the milled edge of the plate 4 to project for manipulation purposes. The lid accommodates a mirror 11 and toilet articles 13. If the case is non- circular, additional receptacles or holders may be provided. The plate 9 may be made of metal or transparent material, e.g. glass or mica.
