Abstract

1,076,900. Trousers. D. O. LEVI. Dec. 22, 1965 [Aug. 27, 1965], No. 54467/65. Heading A3V. [Also in Division D1] A reversible legged garment comprises two ply front sections (44, 64, Fig. 8) and two ply back sections (70, 72, Fig. 12) which are produced by stitching and turning pairs of panels. The front side of the garment is produced by stitching a first pair of panels (40, 42, Fig. 1) with lines of stitches 46, 48, turning inside out to produce the section (44, Fig. 3), stitching a second pair of panels (50, 52, Fig. 5) to each other and to the first pair of panels with lines of stitches (58, 60, 62, Fig. 5), and turning the second pair of panels inside out to produce the section 64. The back side of the garment is produced separately by stitching and turning third and fourth pairs of panels (70, 72, 74, 76, Figs. 10 and 11), the side edges (70f, 72f, Fig. 11) and edges (108, 72g 74g) being left open. The front of the garment is then inserted through one of these openings inside the back (Fig. 12) and the front and back are joined together by four ply seams (98, 100, 106, Figs. 12, 15 and 16). The garment is then turned inside out to produce the legged garment shown in Fig. 18. A sliding clasp fastener 140 is sewn into the back to close the garment.
