Abstract
Novel compounds of the general formula <FORM:1074436/C2/1> (wherein R1 is C1-C4 alkyl or benzyl and R2 is C1-C4 alkyl, benzyl or b -phenyl-ethyl) are prepared by heating a compound of the general formula <FORM:1074436/C2/2> (wherein R3 is H or C1-C4 alkyl) with an amine R1NH2. Piperidine derivatives of the second general formula above are prepared from compounds of the general formula <FORM:1074436/C2/3> by hydrolysis (in one or more stages) and decarboxylation (whereby simultaneous or preliminary splitting off of the benzoyl radical occurs), followed, when R3 is to be alkyl, by esterification. Dicyanides of the last general formula above are prepared by condensing 1-benzoyl-4-piperidine with an alkyl cyanoacetate, adding KCN to the resulting piperidylidene compound, and reacting the resulting compound of the general formula <FORM:1074436/C2/4> with a halide R2-Halogen.
