[Also in Division F2] A ship's propulsion and overload release system comprises a prime mover, a reduction gearbox, a shaft, a propeller on said shaft, and, mounted between the output of the gear-box and the shaft, a hydrodynamic coupling matching the speed and torque of the propeller shaft for ordinary running and so arranged that any substantial diminution of speed results in a large amount of slip between the driving and driven members.
