[Also in Division Fl] Propulsion means for a marine craft comprises a pair of propeller shafts M, N, at least three engines A, B, C, a gear drive between the output shaft of each engine and both propeller shafts and a clutch F, G, H between the output shaft of each engine and the gear drive whereby both propeller shafts are connectible to the output shaft of any one or any two or more or all of the engines. A marine craft including the propulsion means has at least two watertight compartments each housing at least one of the engines of the propulsion means. The gear drives of the propulsion means may be housed separately from the engines thereof in at least one other watertight compartment. The engines may be gas turbines. Reversing gears may be incorporated into the gear-boxes J and K or reversible propellers may be employed.
