Abstract

A shaft (16) positively drives a take-up roller (13) and, through a variable belt drive (56), the warp let-off, the variable drive (56) being finely adjusted by a movable back rest (6), responding to variations in warp tension, and coarsely adjusted by a warp feeler (82), responding to variations in beam diameter. Coarse adjustment: as the warp diameter decreases the feeler (82) and a cam (77), pivoted about (78), turn anticlockwise and a spring loaded follower (75), pivoted about (71), pushes a slide block (69) and a link (68), pivoted at (66), to the left to pivot a two-armed lever (64) about (63) to adjust the variable belt drive. Fine adjustment: As the warp tension increases the back rest (6), pivoted at (4), lifts a link (84) connected to link (68) which has a slot (68a) embracing the slide block (69), the top end of the slot being further from the pivot (66) than the bottom end. As the link (84) lifts the link (68) pivots about (66) and the action of the slot (68a) on the slide block pushes the link (68) to the left to again pivot the two-armed lever (64) about (63) to adjust the variable belt drive. The cloth beam (43) is driven by a slipping clutch (40) from the shaft (16). Both cloth and warp beams may be manually adjusted.
