A horizontally movable non-rotatable back rest 2 operates a warp let-off motion to maintain constant warp tension. The back rest 2 is supported on members 5, having arms 5a attached to levers 9 pivoted at 10 connected to weights 14 that apply a substantially constant force to the warp, and the members 5 have rollers 6 acting on a bed 7. In the mean position shown the warp a is arranged in horizontal and vertical runs and the lever 9 is vertical.
