[Also in Division H2] Air is passed through a U-shaped passage 4 in the core of a thermal storage space heater 3 by a fan 6 having two or more speeds, a timedelay relay being arranged to switch the fan to a lower speed after an initial period of running at the high speed. The motor of the fan 6 is connected in series with a power source, a switch 12, a resistance 9 and a relay 14 (Fig. 2), which comprises a bi-metallic strip (21) surrounded by a heating coil (22) and forming a contact between conductors 15, 16. Thus initially the fan operates at full speed as the current by-passes resistance 9 by way of wire 15. As coil (22) heats strip (21) the contact (19a) opens and resistance 9 is cut-in to reduce the fan speed. Spring (24) ensures a snap-action at contact (19a).
