Abstract

1,062,430. Conveyers. INSTITUT FœR FÍRDERTECHNIK LEIPZIG. Oct. 30, 1964, No. 44377/64. Heading B7L. A storage means for load carriers 9 propelled along a track 16 by dogs 14 attached to carriers 13 of a chain 12, comprises several stations each having a lever 3 pivoted at 4 and carrying a ramp 5 and a stop 2; the lever 3 is moved by an electromagnet 11 against the action of a spring 7; a switch 10 mounted adjacent track 16 controls the electromagnet of a following station. In operation, the electromagnet 11 of a leading station is energized to project ramp 5 into the path of dog 14 to raise it through extension 17 clear of the load carrier, the stop 2 being projected to halt the carrier and a pivoted stop 8 prevents the carrier running back. The carrier 9 actuates switch 10 which causes the electromagnet at the following station to stop a following carrier and so on. The springs withdraw the levers 3, ramps 5 and stops 2 when the leading electromagnet has been de-energized to release the leading carrier and subsequent carrier.
