Abstract
1,108,192. Conveyer systems. GEO. W. KING Ltd. 1 April, 1966 [26 March, 1965], No. 13061/65. Heading B7L. In a conveyer system of the kind wherein load carrying trolleys 11, Fig. 1, are propelled along a fixed track 10 by pusher dogs 12 depending from an endless driven chain 13 supported at spaced points along its length by chain trolleys 14 running on a fixed track 15, vertically above the track 10, the leading load carrying trolley 11 of a train of connected trolleys is provided with a pivotal drive abutment member 21 held in an operative upright position by a latch member 23 pivoted on the trolley at 24, the latch member being movable to the drive abutment member release position when the latch member engages a ramp 26 on a preceding stationary trolley 11, so that the drive to the trolley is disconnected by the associated dog 12 pivoting the member 21 as shown in dotted lines. Each trolley 11 or the leading trolley of a train, also has an L-shaped pivoted abutment 25 which is adapted to engage a retainer dog 16 on the chain 13 if the trolley or train over-runs. Dogs can pass a stationary trolley 11 by idly pivoting the abutment 25. The members 21, 23 are urged to operative positions by counterweights, e.g. 22. " Jack-knifing" of trolley trains is prevented by angle-section members 27 which limit the extent of lifting of the trolley wheels. Load bars 17 of a train of trolleys are universally pivotally connected together as described with reference to Figs. 3 and 3A (not shown).
