1,060,988. Opening containers; container closures. MAUSER KOMM.-GES. June 12, 1964 [June 14, 1963], No. 24448/64. Headings B8D and B8T. A plastics container has a closure cover (1), Figs. I and 2 (not shown), in which a ring (16) capable of being torn out is formed by two parallel grooves (14), (15) spaced apart radially on the underside (2) of the closure cover and interrupted at the point (18), Fig. 2 (not shown). The beginning of the inner groove (14) merges into a groove (19) extending radially outwards. Tab (20) is gripped and the ring (16) is torn out with inner disc (22) still attached to it at the point (18). In a second embodiment, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the cover bottom (2) is provided with an upwardly extending frustoconical portion.
