Abstract

1,058,330. Grippers for lifting stacks of articles. P. MOSKOPF & CO. Sept. 7, 1965 (Dec. 16, 1964], No. 38080/65. Heading B8H. A gripper for lifting concrete blocks 8 has an auxiliary set of grippers 10 for gripping and lifting pallets or boards 11 on which the blocks are stacked. The main jaws 15 have cylindrical inserts 6, 7 of resilient material to prevent damage to the blocks. The auxiliary grippers have fixed jaws 20, Fig. 3 (not shown), and movable jaws 21. Both are mounted on an arm which is rotated about a pivot 30 by a ram 40. The arm supporting the grippers can slide vertically upwards if the pallet strikes an obstruction as the blocks are being set down. A rail 13, Fig. 1, permits the pallets 11 to be stacked against the side of the truck 1.
