Abstract

1,050,669. Knitting machines. KARL MAYER TEXTIL-MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. Aug. 4, 1964 [Oct. 22, 1963], No. 30760/64. Heading D1C. To enable the pattern to change for the formation of marginal portions of a fabric produced on a warp machine two pattern mechanisms for operating the levers 1 shogging the thread guide bars of a warp machine are provided. One of the mechanisms, which are in the form of pattern drums 2, 3 or chains, determines the main pattern and the other determines the pattern of the marginal portion. Normally one or the other of the mechanisms is driven through a clutch 5 white the second remains idle but a transitional period occurs during which both are operative. To permit this to occur the links on the drum or chain at that position coincide so that both operate in a similar fashion on the levers 1. This enables the mechanisms to be brought into and out of operation without stopping the machine and without one mechanism interfering with the other.
