Abstract

1,048,001. Contact lenses. C.M.TAYLOR. May 10, 1963 [Feb. 10, 1962], No. 5190/62. Heading G2J. A haptic or corneal contact lens is provided with a removable secondary lens of such focal length that a composite lens is formed of the focal length required for short distance vision. As shown, for a haptic lens 1 (Fig. 2) the secondary lens 6 may be of slightly greater curvature than the main lens to allow movement of the secondary lens and in the case of the corneal lens (Fig. 5) the curvatures are the same and the corneal lens may be provided with an outwardly curved peripheral edge 7 to retain the secondary lens.
