Abstract

1,208,206. Contact lenses. H. J. BARON. April 18, 1968 [Dec. 1, 1967], No.18483/68. Heading G2J. A corneal contact lens having a concave inner surface 22, Fig. 2, and an optically active outer surface 24, has the outer surface of at least a portion of a circumferentially extending edge, 24a, of the lens of a smaller radius of curvature than the inner surface to provide a thickened edge portion. As shown, the potiorn, 24a, is wedge-shaped and tapers to a knife edge. In a modification the portion has a convex bead shape in cross-section.
