Abstract

1,252,288. Contact lens. H. J. BARON. Nov. 5, 1968 [June 11, 1968], No. 52421/68. Heading G2J. Contact lenses 20 made from a soft refractive gel-like polymeric material have diameters which are larger by 0À5 to 3 mm than the diameter of the cornea (as shown). The lenses have thin tapering edge-sections 20a that extend past the cornea to beneath the eyelids thereby improving the adherence characteristics of the lens. Both surfaces 22 and 24 of the lens are basically spherical, the inner conforms as well as adheres to the surface of the cornea, and the outer is optically corrected.
