Class 97(1) In a corneal contact lens, the peripheral part 3 is stepped relatively to the centre part 2 so that only the peripheral part 3 will contact the cornea 1 and there will be complete clearance between the lens and eye over the whole of the pupil area of the cornea. The peripheral part 3 may be built up to a greater thickness than centre part 2 and may be provided with radial grooves. The centre part may be provided with one or more ventilation holes. Specification 731,155 [Group V] is referred to.
