Abstract

1,045,251. Collapsible tubes. BETTS & CO Ltd. July 9, 1963 [April 10, 1962], No. 13710/62. Heading B8D. A sleeve 16, Fig. 3 (not shown), moulded from synthetic resin is held on the neck 15 of a collapsible metal tube by means of a complementary radial rib 7 on the sleeve and groove 10 on the neck, the sleeve being held against rotation by interengaging longitudinal ribs 8 and furrows 9 on the sleeve and neck respectively. The ribs 8 may be omitted, the ridges between the furrows 9 cutting into the sleeve material as the sleeve is pushed on. The sleeve may be of polyethylene and have external threads for a screw cap.
