Abstract

1,182,544. Cosmetic, &c. holders. UNILEVER Ltd. 30 Aug., 1968, No. 41695/68. Heading B8P. A holder for cosmetics, &c., comprises a body 10 with radial projections 18 at one end which snap-fit with an annular shoulder 28 on a turning knob 20 and screw unit 19, so that this unit, with a cosmetics cup 21 threaded on the screw can be inserted as a whole through one end of the body 10. Each projection 18 has a sloping face 1 8a and a transverse one 18b engaging with similar faces on the shoulder 28. The body 10 is filled with molten cosmetic whilst standing in a mould (11), Fig. I (not shown), and the knob 20 and screw 19 unit plus the threaded cup 21 are inserted whilst the cosmetic is still molten. The cap 21 is prevented from rotating as it is slidden by rotation of the screw 19 by splines 29 on it which engage with two splines 17 on the body interior. The holder may have a cap 16.
