Abstract

104,173. Marks, E. C. R., (International Cellulose Co.). Jan. 31, 1917. Cellulose solutions, and processes for making filaments therefrom.-Cellulose is dissolved in a mixture of aqueous hydrochloric acid and another concentrated inorganic acid, such as sulphuric or phosphoric. The resulting solutions may be squired through orifices into suitable coagulating- baths. Examples are given of the treatment of cotton and comminuted wood; the process may be applied to oxycelluloses, hydrocelluloses, and liquocelluloses.
