Abstract

1,041,336. Expanding-wheel gear; securing pulleys on shafts. GETRIEBEWERKE WERNIGERODE, VEB. June 2, 1965, No. 23560/65. Headings F2D and F2U. In a V-belt expanding pulley gear, spring- biased pulley flanges 4 are keyed at 10 to a shaft 1 and axially displaceably mounted on the shaft 1 by one or more rows of bearings 8 arranged in recesses each end of the bore of each pulley flange 4, the bore intermediate the bearings being slightly larger than the shaft 1 and filled with grease. The bearings 8 may be located directly in hardened recesses in each pulley flange hub 7 or may be contained in hardened rings 9 inserted in the recesses. One or more flexible rings 11 are provided on one or both sides of the bearings 8 which may be housed in a cage. The ratio of the diameter of the shaft 1 to the bearings 8 is at least 8:1.
